Hints of Spring

After an entire season of wanting to do nothing else but hibernate under the covers like a warm, toasty cinnamon bun, Spring is finally peaking through the muddy winter leftovers.

Even though my colour scheme  in this outfit doesn't quite scream "Springtime", this is exactly what I would wear in the classically Canadian transition from cold to warm.  It's a slow change of season, so chunky knits and layering are still a necessity.

Instead of pastel pinks and purples, I tipped my hat (literally) to the warmer weather by taking a light, flowy cami like this one and pairing it with some super skinny jeans, black ankle booties and a long chunky knit to maintain warmth and comfort.

I'm not a big hat wearer -- actually this guy is a touch too big on me (do I smell a DIY post coming soon?!)... But I thought this was the perfect look to pair with my wool "Stevie Hat" from Urban Outfitters (deemed as such because it reminds me of  Stevie Ray Vaughan) to complete the look.

Happy first day of Spring, everyone - can't wait for the thaw.
