How To Style The 2018 Power Suit Trend For Everyday

Babaton Demy Blazer | Babaton Sadiki Pant | Frank and Oak Boy Tee | Adidas Stan Smith Sneakers

I'm loving the matching sets and Power Suit trend that's happening this season. The Power Suit is strong, chic, and badass. It's got masculine elements, but still holds a feminine edge. It can be easily mixed and matched to suit any occasion. I've seen the Power Suit make an appearance a lot on the Red Carpet this season, but since I often (aka: never) have a Red Carpet to walk on, I'm breaking down how to style the Power Suit and take it to the streets everyday.

1. Add some basics

Modernize your Power Suit set with a basic and classic white crew neck tee. It immediately takes the suit  out of formal or officewear without knocking down the effortless cool-girl factor. It's the easiest way to go casual with your Power Suit.

2. Graphic tees

Wanna add a little edge to your outfit? Swap out the expected crisp white button-up or lace camisole and rock your favourite band or graphic tee under your blazer instead. Metallica, anyone?

3. Sneakers

Skip the heels and go for style and comfort by incorporating your favourite joggers into your Power Suit look. To me, white sneakers go with everything, and the Power Suit is no exception.

4. Mix n' Match

Don't feel like rocking a matching set? Take elements of your Power Suit and style it into your outfit. Wear your blazer as a dress, rock the trousers with your favourite usual top and jacket. Pair your blazer with your favourite denim. Take elements of your Power Suit that make it just that, and incorporate it into your everyday looks.

5. Colour Block

I did say to mix n' match your Power Suit, but there is something oh so sexy, powerful and chic when you dress all in one colour and go matchy, matchy too. It doesn't have to be all black either. Go tonal for the season, like a pastel shade for Spring or a really bold red. Dressing in one shade immediately makes you look chic and put together. You can't go wrong. If you want to know more about how to rock Tonal or Colour-Blocked dressing, I wrote a blog post abut it here

What's your favourite way to rock a Power Suit? Have you tried this trend yet? I've linked a few of my favourite Power Suit sets below!
