One of the things I noticed immediately after opening my delivery of A Walk In the Sun Luxury Hail Oil was the packaging. It feels heavy and luxe in your hand, and looks like a sophisticated piece of art on your vanity. Despite feeling so expensive, Voir packaging stays true to their conciousness of Nature, where everything is made of recycled, renewable and re-usable materials.

They are a 100% Canadian beauty brand with roots and home bases in Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia.
As a consumer, it has become so important to educate yourself on where your products come from, who makes them, and the ethics behind the company. Being from Toronto, Voir is a company I can tangibly connect with. I can visit the office, see the hard work that goes into their brand, and meet the people who work there. Good brands are no longer about distributing product to the masses as fast and as cheaply as possible. They are about making connections and becoming a recognizable part of a community . This is something Voir does very well, through social media and in the local community itself. I have had nothing but positive and authentic experiences in working with them.
THE OIL: A WALK IN THE SUN LUXURY HAIR OIL REVIEW
Okay, let's get down to The Oil. After trying a couple of sample packets on my own, I reached out to Voir and they were kind enough to send me a full sized A Walk In the Sun Luxury Hair Oil to test out (100 mL, 3.4 fl oz).
MY HAIR TYPE: medium length, thin, fine, wavy & frizzy with crispy ends and greasy roots
Unlike my skincare or make-up, I don't really pay that much attention to my hair. I probably have a total of 3-4 hair products to my name and have had the same $30 flat iron for what seems like a decade. What do pay attention to when it comes to my hair is: 1) taming frizz and 2) controlling grease. Given my hair type, it's quite difficult to find a hair oil that tames and smooths but does not weigh my hair down or turn it into an oil slick.
My past experience with hair oils was usually "meh". They would often be too thick or viscous, too greasy and too heavy, weighing my hair down and flattening things out in the most unflattering way... Until I tried Voir's A Walk In The Sun Luxury Hair Oil.
This hair oil is, as the kids say, legit.
THE PACKAGING: is heavy and luxe. You also get a generous amount of product (100 mL or 3.4 fl oz) and 1-2 pumps per use is more than enough! The oil is VERY lightweight, with almost a water-like consistency. This is very different from what I've experienced in the past, where hair oils are usually so thick and heavy. It's lightness is something I noticed right away and it does the job without adding much weight to the hair. This oil would be perfect for all the fine-haired readers out there.
THE SCENT: is light and refreshing. I can't quite figure out what it is. It's fruity and floral at the same time, but not juvenile. It's just a clean, light scent that is almost relaxing. It's become something I look forward to in my haircare routine.
HOW I USE IT: I use Voir's oil after shampooing + conditioning on wet hair. I actually never blow-dry my hair (could never master than hand-eye coordination) so sleep with it wet and heat style it in the morning. The next day, my hair is usually in serious POODLE STATUS, and needs some help. I run x1 pump of the oil through my hair from root to tip before heat-styling, and I will add about 1/2 a pump to my ends to smooth away any frizzies when I'm done. Voir also suggests you can use extra pumps of this oil and leave it in wet hair for about 20 minutes as a deep conditioning treatment. Definitely will be trying this!
WISHLIST: The only thing I would like to see from Voir is a pint-sized version of the packaging for travelling (though the current 100 mL/3.4 oz package is carry-on approved). I'd love to see more lightweight, travel-friendly packaging since it's made of glass, so I am terrified I will drop the bottle and smash it to bits. Otherwise, I really enjoy everything about this oil and it's quickly become one of my Holy Grail Status haircare products. Also I think my mom would really enjoy it. So how's that for legit status?
