The Weekend Edit: Classic Layers
This is a look very similar to what you have seen before, but it's definitely a "go-to" when it comes to my everyday, including the weekend. It's still a bit chilly on certain days here in Toronto, but I've happily ditched the parka. Refusing to bring the winter jacket back from the dead makes layering key for Spring.
I like to take a longer, oversized piece like a tank or t-shirt (this one is from Oak + Fort, similar linked below), and layer it under a basic button up, sweater or cardigan. This is a light, thin cotton piece from H&M (linked below). I try not to choose heavy pieces to layer with, since I'm generally a sweaty person who will inevitably overheat. I tend to stick to cottons or even silkier materials for their breathability. Stick to materials that feel flowy and allow you to move and breathe.
Because layering can feel a bit bulky or shapeless despite choosing lighter fabrics, I always try to bring it back with a jacket that provides structure. This moto one adds a bit of edge, but reminds you that I have a waist. Bonus: it's a little thicker in material so keeps me plenty warm while still keeping with the "cool girl" vibes.
My key to layering is to ensure you always feel good and have a put-together-looking outfit whether you're in all your pieces, or if you're stripped down to the bare essentials.
Happy layering.
